Environmental Influences on Animal Mental Impulses

Why are there so many suicidal animals in Northwest Ohio? In the past week I have hit a racoon, possum, and a rabbit. In each case they were not on the road but ran in front of my car just as I was about to pass them. I know Ohio is depressing and boring, but nothing to commit suicide over.
